CDU Ideology

Why was Liberal Conservatism removed from the ideology section? JohannTheFactGerman (talk) 20:43, 20 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it was sourced. Even if it could be sourced, I highly doubt it would meet the threshold of having due weight for the infobox. Helper201 (talk) 20:10, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

That makes sense. There are sources citing Liberal Conservatism and CDU (especially in Merkel's day) but most recent sources (especially since Merz became the chairman) label the CDU as simply Conservative. However, in my opinion, we should have a factions section (like many party ideology sections do) listing Liberal Conservatism, as this is still very much alive in the party in people like Laschet and others. This is actually seen in current internal CDU disagreements on how to approach the AfD. JohannTheFactGerman (talk) 21:12, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
